TAF1 is involved in basal transcription and regulation of promoter recognition and help GTFs form complex assembly and start the transcription. TAF1 contains two protein kinase domains located at N-terminal and C-terminal, and TAF1 also possesses the acetyltransferase and ubiquitin-activating/conjugating activity (2). >Reference
