    Trbl belongs to CAMK group. Three genes encoding trbl have been identified in mammals, and the related orthologus also been found in vertebrates and invertebrates. The Trbl kinases share a conserved central kinase catalytic domain flanked by not unclosely related N-terminal and C-terminal sequences. However, the kinase domains lack the key active site lysine and might be an inactive kinase. Studies show that Trbl kinases are key molecule function on controlling Mitogen-activated protein kinase cascades. For instance, human trbl-1 overexpression can modulate the activation of Ras/MEK-1/ERK pathway, and some MAPKK interacts with Trbls which results enhance of kinase activation (1).
