Triticum aestivum      PPP/PP7

※ PP7 family introduction

PP7, also known as PPEF phosphatase, is Ser/Thr phosphatases of the PPP family. The catalytic domain of PP7 is flanked by N- and C-terminal domain. PP7 is charactered by its EF-hand domain which is invloved in calcium-binding. This character suggests that PP7 can be regulated by Ca2+. In mammals, PP7 is found in various sensory neurons and might be invloved in sensory signalling. PP7 also acts as a regulator in cell growth, cell apoptosis, proliferation or oncogenic transformation (1).
