Nicotiana attenuata      TK/Fer

※ Fer family introduction

Fer is nonontransmembrane receptor tyrosine kinases accepting the signal from cell surface receptors including EGFR, PDGFRA and PDGFRB and regulating a variety of cell processes. Interaction with EGFR will lead to the activation of NF-kappa-B pathway and cell proliferation. Fer can act as a downstream protein of activated FCER1 receptor and plays an important role in FCER1-mediated signaling in mast cells. Fer can also mediate phosphorylation of several substrates including, CTNND1, CTTN, PTK2/FAK1, PECAM1, GAB1 and PTPN11 (1).
